FAQ

How does Access Energy Services work?
Access Energy Services performs a risk-free energy analysis at no cost to you to determine how, when, and where your business uses electricity. Then, Access Energy Services finds the retail energy provider that best meets the needs of your business. The result is an average savings of 20 percent from your monthly electricity bill.

Are alternative energy providers reliable?
Absolutely. Because Access Energy Services only works with reliable and established providers, you can be confident your electricity is there when you need it. After all, the distribution system, or the "line" to your business, is the same one that is already delivering electricity to you. The only difference is the company providing the electricity that travels those lines.

What happens if my energy provider goes out of business?
Access Energy Services works with established energy providers that are committed to the Texas market. However, if for any reason your provider's service were discontinued, the incumbent utility would automatically take over the supply of electricity to your business to ensure that you never experience an interruption in service.

What is the Price-to-Beat?
The Price-To-Beat is an electric rate set by the Public Utility Commission of Texas. Intended to encourage competition, the Price-To-Beat is typically the highest rate in the market and is the rate incumbent electric utilities are required to charge. The Price-To-Beat varies depending on seasonal electricity generation costs and can be adjusted throughout the year. If you have chosen to remain with your incumbent utility and your facilities maintain a total aggregate load of less than one megawatt in peak demand, you are currently paying the Price-To-Beat rate. AccessEnergy can help you save money.

Can I be certain my electricity costs won't fluctuate?
Access Energy Services understands that businesses need to closely manage their cash flow. That's why Access Energy Services helps you lock in savings. Each month, you are billed a fixed amount directly from the selected energy provider, and the savings are guaranteed for the life of your contract.

How much does Access Energy Services charge for service and support?
You pay nothing for Access Energy Service's services and ongoing support. Instead, Access Energy Services is paid by the energy provider you use. Rest assured that no additional charges are passed along to you.

Who do I call when my power goes out?
If your power goes out due to a storm or equipment failure, you can contact your retail energy provider. They will contact your local distribution company to help ensure service is promptly restored.
